As part of the advocacy campaign to protect the Mamora Forest “the Lungs of Morocco”, the Oxygen Association for Environment and Health has sent official letters to several relevant authorities, including:
the Minister of Interior, the Governor of Kenitra Province, the President of the Kenitra Municipality, and both the Regional and Provincial Directors of the National Agency for Water and Forests.

These letters aim to stop ongoing environmental violations, highlight the dangers of concrete expansion and the uprooting of cork oak trees, and call for urgent action to save the Lungs of Morocco.

The Oxygen Association for Environment and Health has officially submitted a letter to the Office of the Director General of the National Agency for Water and Forests at the Agency’s headquarters in Rabat.
The correspondence addresses the alarming situation facing the Mamora Forest the “Lungs of Morocco” where centuries-old cork oak trees are being uprooted and large areas are threatened by expanding concrete projects, endangering this unique national and ecological heritage.
The letter aims to sound the alarm and call for an immediate halt to unsustainable works, while urging the launch of a national program for rehabilitation, reforestation, and ecological restoration, in order to protect biodiversity and safeguard the Mamora aquifer one of Morocco’s richest groundwater reserves.
We invite everyone to sign and widely share the petition, as every signature strengthens our collective voice to save the Lungs of Morocco before it’s too late.
